A lot happened and many changes were made in the fourth generation of Ram 3500. There was three engine options available: a 5.7L HEMI V8 (2010-2018), a 6.4L HEMI V8 (2014-2018), and a high-output 6.7L Cummins I6 turbodiesel (2013-2018). The 5.7L HEMI produced 383 horsepower and 400 lb-ft of torque. The 6.4L HEMI produced 410 horsepower and 429 lb-ft of torque. The 6.7L Cummins produced 385 horsepower and between 850-930 lb-ft of torque (torque goes up with newer model years).
The fifth-generation Ram 3500 boosted performance numbers. The current Ram 3500 options have three different available engines: a 6.4L HEMI V8, a 6.7L Cummins I6 Turbodiesel, and a high-output 6.7L Cummins I6 turbodiesel. The 6.4L HEMI produces 410 horsepower and 429 lb-ft of torque, an improvement over the fourth-gen numbers. The regular 6.7L Cummins produces 370 horses and 850 lb-ft of torque. The high-output 6.7L Cummins produces 400 horsepower and 1,000 lb-ft of torque. The max towing capacity for a properly equipped 2021 Ram 3500 is 37,100 lbs, an industry-leading number.
